The PVPM1540X I-V curve tracer from PV-Engineering is a portable peak power measuring device for photovoltaic strings and arrays up to 1500 V / 40 A.

Designed as our most powerful solution, it is ideal for large-scale solar parks in the mega- to gigawatt range and perfectly suited for high-efficiency monofacial as well as bifacial modules. Optionally, rear-side irradiance (albedo) can be measured with two additional irradiance sensors – enabling precise analysis of bifacial systems.

The measurement of high-efficiency modules places the highest demands on the equipment used. Our PVPM1540X IV curve tracer is designed to test all PV modules currently available on the market without limitation – including modules with very high short-circuit currents.

The PVPM1540X is a portable PV measuring device in a robust plastic housing. With an integrated battery power supply and an external wide-range charger, it is perfectly suited for flexible field use.

Using a patented method, the device calculates from each measured IV curve directly at the PV system site the peak power (Pmax) as well as the resistances Rs and Rp. The measurements are performed in compliance with IEC 60891, IEC 60904-1, IEC TS 60904-1-2 (bifacial modules), and IEC 61829, ensuring international comparability and acceptance reliability.

For convenient operation, the device is equipped with a high-performance industrial mini PC and a high-resolution TFT touch display. Operation is intuitive and software-guided – no special training is required.

For simple data transfer to the PC, a standard USB interface is available. Like all our systems, the PVPM1540X is entirely developed and manufactured in Germany – Made in Germany for maximum precision and durability.
