Find the PVe Peak Meter for your application
In addition to I-V curve tracers we offer PVe Curvealyzer for planning and evaluation, useful accesories as well as supporting services from PV-Engineering. For your initial order we recoomend for your PVe Peak Meter our userfriendly Software. Everything else you need you need to start working is already included with the measuring device - including an annual licence for the software.
I-V Curve Tracers
I-V curve tracers analyze the current-voltage characteristic curve of modules, strings, and arrays. This curve represents the relationship between electrical current and voltage, providing insight into the actual performance of a module under various operating conditions. The peak power is the maximum achievable power output of a module under Standard Test Conditions (STC), which serve as a reference for photovoltaic module performance measurements. STC conditions are defined as a cell temperature of 25°C, an irradiance of 1000 W/m², and a spectral composition of sunlight corresponding to AM 1.5.
From this value, the I-V curve tracer calculates the peak power of the module. Comparing the measured curve with the module's nominal values according to the manufacturer's specifications enables a precise assessment of performance and helps diagnose potential issues or malfunctions, such as degradation, shading, defective cells, or connection errors.
A key advantage of fault diagnosis is that the detailed analysis of the I-V curve allows for the precise identification of problematic areas within a string or array. This makes it possible to quickly locate faulty modules without the need to inspect the entire system. As a result, downtime is significantly reduced, maintenance becomes more efficient, and energy production is optimized—ultimately extending the lifespan of the entire solar installation.
The ability to measure not only individual modules but also strings and arrays provides a comprehensive diagnosis for larger solar installations. This feature enables monitoring of the entire power chain, ensuring that the system operates under optimal conditions.
The I-V curve tracer is therefore an essential tool for maximizing long-term energy production and ensuring efficient maintenance of photovoltaic systems. "I-V curve measurement device" is the technically correct term for the PVe Peak Meter.
Minimal training required thanks to a user-friendly interface.
Our customers appreciate the easy operation of the PVe Peak Meter. Measurement campaigns can be conveniently planned and prepared on a PC using our proprietary software, which then transfers the prepared campaigns to the device. Even inexperienced users can perform measurements with ease. The analysis of measurement data is then carried out within the software. The simplicity of operating the measurement device in combination with the software is demonstrated by Graham Murphy from TechRentals from Australien testing the PVPM 1500X.
Fast measurements thanks to the capacitor – precise results thanks to the capacitive load.
Our PVe Peak Meters stand out due to their use of capacitors, setting them apart from conventional market devices. By utilizing a capacitive load, this technology enables continuous measurement in a single pass instead of performing the measurement in multiple steps. The advantage: Measurements are conducted with optimized speed and higher precision, as the capacitors ensure a consistent and stable measurement across the entire range. Did you know that the "C" in the product name stands for "Capacitor"? The "X" indicates the extended version, designed for higher voltages up to 1500 volts. However, all PVe Peak Meters utilize capacitor technology to ensure efficient and precise I-V curve measurements.
Simple planning and analysis
A standout feature of the PVe Peak Meters is our proprietary software, which provides significant ease of use not only for operators of large solar parks but also for assessors and research institutions. Thanks to the user-friendly interface, even less experienced staff on-site can independently perform measurements. The planning and analysis of measurement campaigns are handled by the software, enabling users to quickly reach an expert level. This way, every user is guided step-by-step to becoming an expert in measurement and analysis through the use of the software.
